What is Low Frequent Dose Chelation?
Frequent low dose chelation was developed when Andrew Hall Cutler PhD began looking for a safer therapy to address his own mercury toxicity. It is also fondly referred to by many as "AC or ACC Chelation". Dr. Cutler utilized his knowledge in chemistry and applied it to use of the chelators. By applying the rules of "Pharmacokinetics" it reduces symptoms and avoids driving more mercury into the brain which happens when chelators are taken randomly. This method helps you safely remove metals without causing serious side effects or further damage. You can learn more in depth details of this protocol in the books "Amalgam Illness: Diagnosis and Treatment" and "Detoxing Kids: A Parent's Guide to Safe Metal Detox for Kids!"
The reason we even need to chelate in the case of mercury toxicity is because the human body has no natural mechanism to remove mercury from the brain. Once in there, it is trapped and must be removed with chelators which bind to it and carry it out of the brain. However, you can make its effects far worse by using improper substances to attempt to remove the mercury (i.e. chlorella, cilantro, EDTA, homeopathy, etc…) or by following improper protocols (i.e. high dose IV protocol, the 10 mg per pound 8 hour protocol, or even the once every other day method). We believe it is very important to be informed about these risks and a the availability of this safer option of frequent dose chelation to remove metals safely.
